Chairman of the Think Pink Foundation, Ron Smith said since the suspension of all onsite operations on Monday 16 March at the new Docklands Living Centre, Think Pink has switched all of its programs and activities to Zoom, increasing face to face contact by 300%.

Mr Smith said under the guidance of the Think Pink Breast Care Nurse Consultant and Centre Manager, Andrea Cannon, with staff working remotely, the Think Pink Living Centre is continuing all activities, personal consultations and group sessions online.

The Think Pink Living Centre's use of Zoom has removed the tyranny of distance to break down the isolation women and their families face through the COVID-19 lock down to gain access to Think Pink programs, and socialise with other women online in a safe and welcoming environment.

"Already we have had women from Tasmania and Albury join the groups."

Think Pink Breast Care Nurse Consultant and Centre Manager Andrea Cannon, who has developed and expanded the Zoom program said “At first, we were not sure how clients would take the Think Pink program move to Zoom.

"But within a few minutes of our first Think Pink Zoom discussion our clients were excited and involved, coming up with new ideas and suggesting more online programs.

"We are running a number of Zoom sessions every day including art therapy, yoga, reflexology, Tai Chi, Pilates and Support Groups such as the Pink Sisters and the Supporting Blokes program to discuss the impact of breast cancer on family life, with numbers growing."

Ms Canon said the Think Pink Foundation Zoom programs provide an atmosphere of calmness and restfulness and is a hub of socialisation for Think Pink clients and their families during a very difficult period of their life in dealing with breast cancer.
