The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Melbourne has elected Melbourne business identity, Tony De Domenico, as its President for a third term.

Mr. De Domenico's career has spanned almost 40 years in various roles throughout Australia and overseas, across industry and commerce, education, insurance, government relations, advocacy, property and the media.

He has also held the role of Senior Businesses Manager AUSTRADE Milan, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Libya and Israel.

Mr. De Domenico said the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Melbourne provides a pivotal role in developing trade between Italy and Australia, helping large and small businesses to create connections and opportunities for companies in both countries.

Since 2003 the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also played a special role in supporting the development of the relationship between the City of Melbourne and its sister City of Milan. This will be reinforced with opening of BlackBOX: Design and Innovation from Melbourne, Australia as part of the City of Milan/Milan Chamber of Commerce Expo in Citta program in May 2015.

Mr. De Domenico said the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be supporting the City of Melbourne by attending the opening and participating in business related activities which will contribute to the continuing development of trade between Victorian and Italian businesses.

The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry In Victoria over the past twelve years with a small dedicated team, now led by CEO - Secretary General, Mr Luca Bottallo, has conducted 4211 Business Matching Exercises, 43 Trade Missions 312 Networking Events and 86 Business Projects.

"With the Free Trade arrangements being put in place, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry looks forward to working with the Victorian Government and the Italian Business community to maximise both business and employment opportunities in both countries," Mr, De Domenico said.
