The AFL blockbuster game at the MCG to commemorate ANZAC Day will become part of the Federation Square digital time capsule, federationstory.com, with special personal messages from the Coaches and Captains of both Collingwood and Essendon.

Nathan Buckley, the Collingwood Coach and Jobe Watson, the Essendon Captain have recorded their personal messages on video to be placed in the digital time capsule.

Jane Sydenham-Clarke from Fed Square said, "ANZAC Day is one of the most important days in Australia's social fabric and Federation Story provides easy access for the community to post their stories and comments online with photos and videos.

"We are looking to capture the memories and thoughts of the ANZAC Day Memorial march and those who march in memory of, or with family members, to show ongoing support for the ANZAC Spirit.

"The inclusion of personal comments from the Coaches and Captains of Collingwood and Essendon about ANZAC Day and the special game played at the MCG each year, when over a hundred thousand people observe a minute's silence, is a significant story for future generations.

"We are also encouraging supporters who attend the game to submit their thoughts and memories of ANZAC Day as well as schools to use the Federation Story as a special project to commemorate ANZAC Day."

Ms. Sydenham-Clarke said following ANZAC Day we are encouraging people to use the photos or videos they have taken during ANZAC Day of themselves, family and friends and add their own story into the time capsule to create a family record of the event.
