Urban Development Institute of Australia Awards Recognise Leaders in Victorian Property Industry

The Urban Development Institute of Australia (Victoria) has honoured three outstanding contributors to the industry at its annual dinner on Friday night at Crown to raise funds for the Ardoch Youth Foundation.
Executive Director of UDIA (VIC) Tony De Domenico said the awards represented the high degree of professionalism and commitment of individuals in an industry which represents 12% of the Victorian economy and employs over 300,000 Victorians.

"Julie Katz, one of Australia's leading town planners, was presented with the UDIA 'Life Member Award'.
Mr De Domenico said, "Recently elected as the National President of the UDIA, Julie has spent 12 years on the UDIA (VIC) Board, 3 years as President - and is recognised for leading change at the UDIA which has led to the growth of the organisation and has enabled the UDIA to emerge as a leading advocate for the industry."

"Greg Aplin, Director Sustainable Development, at the City of Wyndham was awarded The Raymond J Peck Award. This is presented by UDIA Victoria to recognise the outstanding contribution made by an individual to the land and housing industry and the community in general.
"Greg commenced with the City of Werribee in 1982 and has been responsible for economic development in the fastest growing area of Melbourne now the City of Wyndham."

"The winner of the UDIA Young Professional Award was David Bock from Sienna Building Pty Ltd. who at the age of 27, David has co-founded Sienna Building P/L. A Victorian home builder based in Lynbrook," Mr De Domenico said.
