Heavy rains and floods have forced the cancellation of some stages of the 22nd Kidney Kar Rally on Day 3 as Kars leave from Wilpena Pound in South Australia and head towards Broken Hill in New South Wales on a 690 kilometre trek.
The Kidney Kar Rally expects to start rolling into Broken Hill at around 4.30pm this afternoon.
Rain caught up with rally drivers in the 22nd Kidney Kar Rally with over 90% of the 47 Kars having to be towed after becoming bogged in an area known as the Bad Lands on the second stage of the Rally heading from Swan Hill to Murray Bridge on the first day.
Arthur Davis Road Director said the 22nd Rally was turning out to be one of the toughest yet as Kars battled floods and mud on every section, with the worst roads becoming impassable or closed.
