Over sixteen thousand ice skaters, of all ages from two to eighty two years of age, have enjoyed the Momentum Energy River Rink at Fed Square during the past three weeks.

If you weren't one of those then this weekend is your last chance as Momentum Energy River Rink at Fed Square is closing at 10.00pm Sunday 19 July 2015.

Ron Gauci, CEO of Fed Square said, "Providing the centre of the city with a temporary ice rink has provided Melbourne with some magic and fun during the school holidays this winter attracting visitors locally as well as from all over the world.

"The success of the pilot ice skating program provides a strong foundation to turn winter ice skating at Fed Square into what we now will develop into an annual winter wonderland tradition.

"Skating at the Momentum Energy River Rink at Fed Square was very much a family orientated activity, with the 10.00am to 10.00pm schedule providing flexibility of access.

"The demonstration skating exhibitions by advanced skaters, from Medibank Icehouse in Docklands, have been a highlight of the program."

Mr Gauci said the day views of the city and Yarra River formed a dramatic backdrop for skaters and as nightfall arrived the Momentum Energy River Rink at Fed Square was transformed into a fairyland of light and colour.

"With such a spectacular environment, thousands of photos and videos have been captured on mobile phones and tablets and uploaded to social media, providing skaters, young and old, with memories of a lifetime, whilst also creating an ongoing promotion of ice skating at Fed Square"

This weekend is the last chance to experience the River Rink. Bookings essential; book through Ticketmaster or download the Where4Events app.
