Federation Square

A giant three-metre high, Green Wishing Penguin made his way to Federation Square this morning on the back of a small truck through peak hour traffic in the city.

As the focus of the Fed Square's free December program - Spirit of the Square, the Green Wishing Penguin's arrival was heralded by a performance from The Salvation Army Band, with the Penguin riding on a forklift to a prominent position in the Square.

For the month of December the community will be invited to share their Christmas wishes, by picking up a special wishing card from the Salvos at Fed Square and putting it in the Penguin's egg. Each day wishes will be screened on the Big Screen and Fed Square's electronic messaging platforms.
