Melbourne wine lovers are set for two days in paradise with the annual Fed Square Wine Awards being held next Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 August 2010.

Over seventy wines from forty five wineries around Victoria will provide wine lovers with a chance to chat directly to wine makers and take part in signature tastings of  the very best Victorian wines of the 2009 / 2010 season in the ambience of The Atrium at Fed Square.

Guests will also enjoy signature tastings from participating cafes and restaurants and the smooth sounds of a live jazz band.

On Wednesday night the winners of 2010 Fed Square Wine Awards will be announced at a special event in the BMW Edge at 8.00pm.   

The Fed Square Wine Showcase series was established in 2004 to support the Victorian wine industry by providing regional wineries an opportunity to promote their wines in the central city.

In the last seven years, 70 monthly Fed Square Wine Showcases have been completed with 50,000 people attending and 1420 wineries exhibiting.
 

This year over 150 wineries have participated with just under 6000 attendees enjoying more than 1500 wines.

 

Dates: Wednesday 4 August, 4.00pm - 8.00pm, Thursday 5 August, 4.30pm - 8.30pm

Cost: $25, including a signature dish from participating restaurants & cafes (+$2 glass deposit)
