Marysville Golf
Club Calls for Help Wanted - 150 Golfers to Play in the Marysville
Sandhurst Challenge
The Marysville Golf Club has sent out an
URGENT plea for the assistance of Victoria's golfers and
companies to play in its major fundraising golf
challenge to raise funds to start restoring the Club,
which is a major community asset for the small tourism
town destroyed by the fires on Black Saturday 7th
February 2009.
Dave Stirling, Manager of the
Marysville Golf Club Pro Shop said, Sandhurst Club had
made both of its championship courses available on
Tuesday 21st April 2009 as a rallying point for the
start of the Marysville Golf Club rebuild.
"The
Club is facing a huge task of raising in excess of
$800,000 to get back on its feet.
"We need 150 golfers to maximise
the potential of the day for the Marysville Golf
Club. The golf game will commence at 1.00pm after
a special ceremony at 12.30pm and will be followed by a
Sports Dinner hosted by James Brayshaw at 6.00pm.
"We are hoping many companies will use the day
with clients to play for Marysville and are wanting
people to register their support this
week."
Funds raised from the day will go towards
the replacement of course maintenance machinery, sheds,
repairing of greens, re-establishment of the watering
system and the community facility of the
Cub.
