Golf Course Operation Fight Back
Golfers from the severely damaged
Marysville Golf Club have signalled the start of the
fight back to restore the Golf Course, which sustained
over $1 million damage during the Black Saturday fires,
with a symbolic tee off on the course surrounded by a
black
environment.
Dave Stirling, Manager of the
Marysville Golf Club Pro Shop said the Club would need
to raise between $600,000 and $800,000 to get the Golf
Course operating as a tourism and community facility.

"Whilst the Clubhouse, which was
insured, was not damaged, the fire destroyed every piece
of machinery, the total watering system, bridges and
every golf cart.

"We are hoping to finalise our
insurance claim by the end of this week, so we can at
least get started on repairing and maintaining the
Course."
Mr. Stirling said

could be to register to play in the Marysville Sandhurst
Challenge at Sandhurst Club on Tuesday 21st
April 2009 by calling (03) 8787 7011 or
visit www.sandhurst.com
The second way is to register an
interest in playing when the Course is open is by
visiting the Club's website where donations can also be
made to become a friend of Marysville Golf Club
