Red Dogs,
a rockin' country blues band formed by fire fighters and staff from the Fire
and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia are set to rock in Hyde
Park and Make a Noise About Kidney Disease known as The Silent Killer.
KHAOS, the Kidney Health Australia
Band; including Doctors, Patients and family from WA's Kidney Community will
also be performing.
The
BIG RED BBQ - the Healthy Choice,
is part of Kidney Health Australia's national community awareness program
to promote healthy food and lifestyle to help prevent kidney disease in Australia.
The iconic Aussie barbeque got a
healthy makeover recently when Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard launched
Kidney Health Australia's national strategy aimed at encouraging people to introduce
healthy barbeque menus and choices of food to cut the fat content of traditional
barbeques.
The BIG RED BBQ is being staged
by the Kidney Health Australia (WA) Consumer Participation Committee to improve
kidney health awareness.
All profits will go to Kidney Health
Australia to help fund medical research, valuable education programs and other
programs, including the Transplant Housing FAITH project, Kidney Information
Service (KHIS), the Kidney Kids Camps Programs, Kidney Capers and Holidays program.
Approximately 2 million Australians
may be affected by early-stage kidney disease and don't know it.

Red Dogs,
a rockin' country blues band, formed by fire fighters and staff from the Fire
and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia, will rock Hyde Park today
at lunch time as part of a national awareness and fundraising strategy for Kidney
Health Australia.
KHAOS, the
Kidney Health Australia Band; including Doctors, Patients and family from WA's
Kidney Community will also be performing.
Adam Boyle,
Red Dog band member and Chairman of the Kidney Health Australia WA Consumer
Participation Committee said, with one in three Australians at increased
risk of developing kidney disease, I think it's important to make a lot of noise
about this critical health issue.
"If we can
some fun and entertain a few people while making that noise… even better!"

where there is also a range of FREE specially prepared healthy barbeque recipes.
