Kick a Goal for Marysville Golf Club on Grand
Final Day
Footy fans not attending the AFL Grand
Final have been urged to make the One Day in September a
special day to help rebuild Marysville.
The small tourist township savaged by the Black
Saturday Bushfires is turning it on for footy fans to
provide a unique day of entertainment.
In the morning the Marysville Golf Club is running
a Grand Final Brunch starting at 10.00am until 12.00
noon. Early bird keen golfers will start the Grand
Final celebrations with nine holes at 8.00am or bowls
from 9.00am.
The afternoon will
kick off in the township when the Grand Final will be
live on the original big screen from Federation Square
with the local community and visitors gathering in the
village.
Marysville Golf Club Grand Final Brunch
organiser Rob Christie said, the Brunch will
commence at 10.00am preceded by nine holes of golf and
provides a unique sporting experience, which this year
will be complemented by access to the Big Screen in
the town in the afternoon.
Bridget Lloyd-Jones,
Regional Arts Victoria's Project Manager for the
Marysville Big Screen, said the screen provides a major
meeting place for the community and is scheduled to be
used for a range of sporting, arts and community events.
All AFL Finals including the Grand Final are
being screened at Marysville on the Marysville Big
Screen.
