BP Education Grants Presentation Function - 2

Western Australian BP Education Grants were presented at a function at Cottelsoe Civic Centre on Friday 6 August. The special guest for the evening, the Minister for Education, Hon Colin Barnett congratulated BP Australia for continuing with the Grants for Schools program. He said that he was looking forward to being associated with this partnership between BP Australia and the Education Department of Western Australia. In his welcome address, Mr Peter West said that BP Kwinana Refinery is proud to be have established a number of initiatives involving partnerships between industry and education.
Representatives from 20 schools who attended the function were presented with the awards by the Acting Director General for Education, Mr Peter Browne and the Community Affairs Manager for BP Australia, Mr Alex Anderson.
The MC for the evening, Mr Peter Newman invited six of the schools present to briefly outline their projects. Students and staff from these took the opportunity to show how the BP Education Grants were being applied.
