PROJECT	School	Grant	Project Description
LED Steer Project	Tara State School (p-12)	$ 1,250	Students will be responsible for all areas of raising, maintaining, training and fulfilling all responsibilities associated with the feedlotting and marketing of fattened steers.
Outdoor Play Equipment	Merrimac State High School	$ 1,250	Year 12 students participating in Early Childhood Studies will run a playgroup as part of their studies. Giving the students first hand experience with young children, as well as forging strong links with the school, the students and the community.
Sport for the Visually Impaired	Miami State High School	$ 1,000	Martial Arts is being explored as a sport for visually impaired students. It is envisaged that through participating in this program the students will learn skills allowing them to become more confident members of the community.
Traditional Language/English Songwriting & Recording	Yarrabah State School	$ 1,220	Students will write lyrics, perform songs, play instruments and record the finished product in the Yidi language, (an aboriginal language native to the area, which is near extinction.)
Candle Making (Production Line Experience)	Inala State Special School	$ 760	Intellectually impaired students in the Prevocational classes will develop and expand candle making, produce and package candles, market in the local community.
Rainforest Research Area	Rosedale State School	$ 500	Biology students will design and create a rainforest simulation area. It will become a resource for future biology, geography and science classes, as well as for local primary school students.
Health in the Technology Age	St. Ursulas College	$ 1,090	Students will design and implement a project to monitor and analyse the effect of different levels of exercise and training programs on volunteer students and members of the community. Students will then analyse data, and make recommendations to improve their exercise regime.
Aboriginal Heritage Axe Display	Mt. St Bernard College	$ 390	The discovery of 5 aboriginal axe heads, has inspired the idea of a display in which the children will make plaster casts of the original finds and paint, determine the basis of the rock type, location, finding the extent of tribal territories, interview
Earth Science Australia	Mt. St Bernard College	$ 420	This project will enable continuity of an Australian Website that provides comprehensive primary and secondary resources on earth science.
GLOBE	Dirranbindi State School	$ 750	Students will take part in the CSIRO approved Globe Program linking science and technology whilst also heightening their awareness of their surroundings, and the effects of the 20th century on our environment.
Seen and not Heard	Southside Education Centre (Quuensland Baptist Community Service)	$ 1,250	Students who have dropped out or have been excluded from the mainstream education system, will be writing, and producing a drama production addressing the issues important to them and then performing for residents of the Wishart Retirement Village.
Rainforest Education Project	Centenary State High School	$ 1,250	This project involves the planting of a rainforest plot and native frog breeding area in a shallow gully. Students will then monitor and maintain the area, collect all relevant data on the frogs and flora and fauna that establish in the area.
Food for the Glossy Black Cockatoo	Emmanuel College	$ 625	At-risk students studying vocational Maths (Trade + business) & English will work with local community, organisations and primary school in this project. Students will be involved with creating awareness of these endangered species.
Health & Fitness Testing Laboratory	Murgon State High School	$ 700	A health and fitness testing laboratory using an array of technology based human physiology measuring equipment will be implemented. Students will experience first hand the link between theory and practical work
Community Awareness and technology (CAT)	Murgon State High School	$ 1,250	Students construct/ develop an instructional manual, which demonstrates both basic and advanced uses of a variety of computing applications, including Word Processing, Spread Sheeting and Databases. Upon completion these will be used in the community
Recycle for Gold	Mueller College	$ 1,250	Students will design and construct suitable moulds or extruding dies to best demonstrate the benefits of recycling. Then they will design and manufacture equipment needed to process the plastic.
Furniture Resoration	Pioneer State High School	$ 1,000	High level special needs students will participate in the simple restoration of furniture. Students will not only learn simple restoration techniques, but also business management skills.
Town High Fliers - Army Group	Townsville State High School	$ 1,250	This project is a community-operated science curriculum enrichment course for the more academically able students. The students will work in and out of school hours and experience the use of mathematics in the "real world".
Woongorra Scrub Regeneration Project	St. Luke's Anglican College	$ 950	The school has the unique geographical ability to re-create vegetation and wildlife corridors between the city parkland and Woongarra Scrub. The project involves the identification of local species, seed collection, plant propagation and re-vegetation.
Trade/Business College	Malanda State High School	$ 1,250	This course is open to any senior students not pursuing University. Numeracy and Literacy have been incorporated into Certificates I & II in Recreation. And is aimed at keeping "At Risk" students at school, and also provide them with a sense of self worth
Adopt a River/Environmental Impact Study	Mareeba State High School	$ 1,050	Students will use water quality testing procedures as per WATERWATCH and use Macro-Invertebrate studies to build up a source of data which would be used to monitor the health of Emerald Creek
Sensory Path and Gardens	Roma Middle School	$ 1,250	Students will be actively be involved in the design, construction and maintenance of a sensory path and garden.
Wind-Powered Generator	North Bundaberg State High School	$ 1,250	Students will be involved in all stages of the wind powered generation project: from researching why, where and how, to the "hands-on" costing, purchase and delivery of materials and construction.
Feedlot for lambs	The Scots-PGC College	$ 925	This project aims to give students the opportunity to determine best practice in prime lamb production using the latest technology available and follow up visits to the saleyards and abattoirs to give students complete knowledge of animal husbandry
Presenting Well Doing Well	Southern Cross Catholic College	$ 1,120	A three-part program addressing the needs of three target groups. This is to be achieved by activities designed to build confidence, self-esteem and awareness of socially acceptable behaviour patterns.
